These are a couple of new ones that I came up with this morning. They started out as 1/16 round heads with #2 red sickles. The blades on bottom are painted #1 willows and the top blades are #2's.Tailgunner's have been productive all year for me and lately I've been catching some nice bass and crappie on spinnerbaits so I thought I'd combine the two. By the time I added all the hardware to these they weigh 1/8 oz.View attachment 4View attachment 5

Look really good!!!!!! Dont know if you've tried them yet but once you do could you let us know if the tail spinner works against the V-frame spinner blade?? or if it throws it off balance

Hunter, yes I tie in the swivel first and add the blades later.I try and match the blade paints up with the head and body. Fm, I havn't thrown them yet but but don't see a problem with the balance. My only concern is where you attach the bait to the frame it has a v shape instead of a u and I've been breaking about 1 in 3 while attaching the tailgunner. A nice fish could break it with a good headshake. I bought the forms from Barlow's and I'm not happy with them. Probably cheap imported forms. I also think the arm going up from the gunner is too long. Blade baits have been working for me the last two years so I'll keep working with them.

The Arm length with this design should work fine ..Curious about the breakage?
Keep us up dated.

Thanks but like JSC "Breakage"??? If you're making your own and you're talking the part where you put the jig on the frame, get a pair of half round needle nose and it will have a round shape instead of the V you're talking about.

I went through that when I first started making the frames.

The jig forms are pre-made. They are made with .029 diameter wire. The jig form length is 1.25x1.5. I bought 100 from Barlow's for a little over $10. There has to be a weak point at the bend whichis causing them to break. I'm almost afraid to throw them.

Don't know if this is gonna work for you but I copied your picture and I did an erase block where you can try and cut the wire off.

rebend the end of it and see if that helps. Other than that I don't think the heating and cooling of the wire will work but who know's JMO I think it's gonna mess up the temper of the wire.

Hope this helps
