Can anyone tell me what the best way is to remove synthetic marabou from the bundle it comes in? I'm afraid to cut it because I don't want to square the ends of the leftover material.

With strung marabou or hackle I carefully cut the threads at the bottom as I need them. Not sure what you mean by synthetic marabou, something new?

I'll have to check the label on the package again, but I believe it was called synthetic marabou. I bought it from Jann's Netcraft in gray for tying minnow pattern jigs. It comes in about a foot long bundle of individual fibers that are massed together.

Sounds like super hair to me. I just cut mine into the desired lengths and through handling and tying it gets redistributed so you do not have the appearance of a straight cut end.

Really like this material.Be careful measure and cut as needed try to make the cuts where the material comes out even. 1 in,2 in cuts ect. If you are careful will be no or very little waste.Just takes a little practice. Can tie a lot of jig's from this material. Hope this helps.
