A person whom I deeply respect was kind enuf to share that an unresolved fiscal cliff may crash the world as we know it. So, many of us are to some degree preparing. Maybe we can share ideas? For example, right now my escape pack includes:
Katadyne Pocket water filter
Gobspark Armageddon fire starter including magnesium rod
50' Paracord
150# Power Pro for lashing
20# Power Pro + stainless steel small hooks
Full synthetic long sleeve shirts, pants, & socks in a dry sack
Coupla stainless pocket knives + sharpener
Nail clipper & Leatherman multi-tool
Folding pruning saw
Toothbrushes & floss
Quart poly water bottle(need another)
Ripstop nylon tarp(no tent or sleeping bag)

If the world goes to he!!, i will plant my butt on my friends porch with a 30.06 in my hand and a 20 gauge by my side. Will go to my friends cause he has more ammo than me.

Camping gear is all packed in two plastic crates in the garage. Only have to fill the water jug, grab the gun and extra shells and the fishing tackle and walk out the door. The woods are all around near me with fishing and hunting right there too!!

I am at my Bug out location and have been for 8 years now. Guns and Ammo are nice I got all the .22 cal. to hunt small game that I need. Have a 410 for deer and hogs. But wait what are you going to need in the mean time. Well here is a quick list of the things out side the bug out bag.

1. Salt
2. Sugar in any form
3. Flour
4. A way to make fire
5. Water

Remember the rule of three, Three minutes without oxygen, Three days without water, Three weeks without food.

Be a Boy Scout and be prepared. Be like a Indian and learn to live off the land and not waste.
