The wind doesn't seen to stop blowing around here and Sunday I set around haft the day not knowing to go or not, but the fish are wanting to spawn with me there or not so hooked up the boat and me and Rosco hit the lake. Had one in the boat in the first minute of fishing but it wasn't like that all day but did manage to bring home a good limit and cooked up a good meal of crappie fillets tonight for supper. The wind ended winning as I been sick every since but plan to leave Friday morning to camp and fish for the weekend. Yep, calling for rain, 45 degree and wind..... did I say the crappie are spawning if I'm there or not :icon14:

Had to hold Rosco back, he wasn't wanting to wait to lick the fish. LOL he thinks that is the best part of catching fish..

The wind was bad but there were also a fire burning close by so I didn't stay long after this pic was taken.

Winds of March are here as well, sick of the 30's and 40's for the high. Great catch Stump under bad conditions. You got to get out there when they are on the beds. The way weather is here we won't see bedding fish until May.

what kind of tail material is on those jigs? could it be wool?

No the tails are marabou. I'll use what I know works until I have more time to spend with the wool jigs. Not sold on the wool yet but I sure do like working with it while tying. Maybe by next spring :)

I was talking with Papaperch yesterday and we were talking about how the marabou tail don't last long with a lot of bite, like I told him, I lose jigs before they have a chance to be wore out

Thanks guys. It does seem like the wind has blown every day this year. I think the winds on Sundays were less than they called for but there were gust that turned my boat side-ways. The I-Pilot was having to work over time. When the fish are wanting to bite it is hard to leave the lake. I talked to some other fisherman that wasn't having as good of catch as I was. Changing colors when the bite stopped is a most but some are hardheaded.

Tough day but you got some good fish so kudo to you for the determination!!! Out rain or snow, or any other goofy weather we experience while fishing the absolute worst is wind!!!! I hate it but for some reason bass seem to turn on when there is wind but 25mph is too much for me despite what the fish think. Great job StumpHunter!!!!!!!!!

Nice catch Ronnie. I went by myself Sunday morning also and had my limit of 30 by noon. The females are full of eggs and the males have their spawning colors on. Most were caught on a 1/8 oz Black/Orange/Chartreuse jig. Luckily, the wind was 5 to 10 that morning but has been 15 to 20 every day since. They're forecasting 5 to 10 tomorrow so guess where I'll be. Lol
