It all aligned for me n the lady. Never happens, so something had to go right. River is wild so found a quiet calm overflow. Had two hours bf dark. Threw back as many as we caught. Not a big haul but will be highly memorable and good fish were kept.
Got a good pic of Helianthus but she'd shoot me.......
And since she out fished me in the keeper window, I'll abide

Thx Heath, Mel n Ro Do.
As far as bait, same as last trip. View attachment 8

If the jig was lower than 2', you were on the bottom and outta catching range. Keep it at 16" or less and you were catching. I'm better in the fall n wish I had a 12' or 14' pole. Either that or I'll have to float fish.
She had fun. Just hope it wasn't a spoiler.
Really happy just to fish with smiles

A nice mess of fish, congrats to both of you. Nothing wrong with float fishing, been doing it for over 50 years and it still a thrill watching the float disappear.

Nothing wrong with gramps syrup though.

Rog, Scott is too busy with the 3lbers too worry about his board.
