For some reason the power was out in our neck of the woods most of the day. No computers or TV. Listened to the battery powered radio and then about 5:30 P.M. the power came back on. We were warm because of the wood stove and by the gas stove we were able to cook dinner. I was even able to tie some jigs by the light coming in the south window, Can only imagine that this is how they had to live in the old days before electricity came in to the country. Make me appreciate the power a whole lot more. The only thing that's a mystery is why it was out most of the day.

So - catastrophic nationwide power failure......... we can't get get on the web and talk/BS jigs and fishing....... where do we all meet up???

Kansas City has got to be about as 'Mid-Continent' as you can get, but we would never be accepted in such a big city. ;) How about just a hair to the SE in Springfield Missouri? Looks like decent lakes in to both the north and south.

Who's bringing the xtra ammo???

Sad, but the 'old' world is gone - can not imagine the 'new' world without the infrastructure we have today. Scary thought.

AF You bring up a interesting subject. As i have stated in the past I moved to be and live as free as possible. In some circles I would be a "prepper" or a survivalist. Yes I think that what you stated will come to pass and that we will not have our internet or telephone or TV and radio.

The things you will need will be a place 6 turns off or a major traffic road ( Interstate or Major Highway) , Wood or source of fuel. and Water. I live 6 turns of Interstate 20. I live on the edge of a 8837 acre forest. I live on a 40,000 acre lake. Bases covered. We have to keep extra food stuffs around and the like because we are 27 miles from a shopping area. I like to hunt and fish so have to have a couple of freezers to hold the half beef we bought , deer and fish we get, as well as Garden produce.. As far as Ammo any one care for hand loads? If done right they are deadly accurate. Nuff said.

I see it happening!!! I have my tackle and my guns and know I can still feed my family if need be. BIL has wood smoker so we can cure up any meat, and already decided to grow a couple extra rows of veggies.

When it happens there is gonna be some folks in big trouble.
