Started tearing down the rabbit vest

Well I started tearing down the rabbit skin vest. Started by pushing the fur out of the way and finding the threads. Tried cutting them first and that was a major pain in the butt!!!

As you can see in the first pic, it's all just strips like zonkers (so far regular, so when tying there is going to be a lot of brushing the fur back) inside a sewed up mesh. You can see the strip backs

I found the best way is to just unlace them, go slow and easy and they come right out, and these are how long some of them are coming out

Nice layered colors. Does the fur have a natural bluish sheen like the pics?

More gray but it's probably my camera - I really have to get a new one!!!

I've done a couple of scarfs and collars like this. Like Fatman, I ended up just pulling the strips out. Mind numbing for sure, but you just have to keep reminding yourself how much you're saving over buying packs of zonkers at $3 a pop.
