Ha ha, Gotcha!

I've been working on my fly tying desk. I was given an old desk about a month ago and I've been working on it a little at a time. I spent all day today repairing the drawers, staining, and painting hardware. I've even changed my mind a couple of times over the past month. Here is what I finally decided on though. I went with a stain by Rustoleum called Cabernet and the hardware is Sea Glass by Rustoleum. I'm still a long ways from completion, but I'm getting there slowly but surely. All repairs to desk and drawers have been completed, so the hard part is over. Haven't stained desk yet. The drawers will need a few coats of clear.

It's nearing completion. Shines like a diamond in a goats behind. I still have the decorative trim that goes around the edge. It will be same color as handles.

Here is the top.

It's still a work in progress. I built a pegboard frame and installed it above the desk. I needed a place to store thread, so I built one to go all the way across the desk. I am also building 3 shelves to go above the desk.

Very nice work. That baby has some shine to it. Really like the little baskets on the peg board. Going to have to see if i can jimmy rig something similar on my peg board downstairs.

I wasn't able to capture all in one shot, but I wanted to share the end result with everyone. I need a chair now! My barstool I used to use is too tall. I used 1 x 12's for the shelves and finished them in the same theme as the desk.
