I had the pleasure of meeting Sbc's lovely family today and actually meeting him face to face for the 1st time and though much of the encounter was as I expected (that FINE NE Saints Skeeter in the barn, his cool work table where he does his creatin, & a guy as cool in person as he is on these forum's), but 1 thing was not as I expected (& I told him so) and that was HIM! I mean, really, he's the captain of a SHIP!!, not just a boat that goes out on the Gulf, but a REAL SHIP!! and I expected to see a big, kinda hefty, grey bearded, silver hair'd Ol' Salt! But what I saw was a great young man (reminded me of one of my son's friends), friendly & helpful & willing to share knowledge and time. I said it on another post, it was great finally meeting you Jerry and your wonderful family.

I think most of us probably thought he'd be older as a ships captain!!! So WHO outfished WHO???LOL

We'll see...He's pre-fishing Cedar Creek today for a crappie tournament tomorrow. I was suppose to fish it with him but couldn't get away. Hope he finds the bigguns!!

I do know 1 thing for sure, He can flat turn out the leadhead's with his setup! Yesterday he was pourin & poppin while I was clippin & trimming but when I saw I couldn't keep up, I quit trimming & just clipped the "funnel" off. Now I have a bag of jigs I need to trim & file. That's OK though, it was pretty cool watchin him turn out the jigs.

It was great meeting you as well Vern! Fishing was tough today.... Wind was blowing at least 30 today and there were some 4' rollers with foam on top of them!! I was extremely limited on where I could fish.... Ughh!!
It's supposed to lay down some tomorrow.. Hopefully I can get on a few of them Wiley critters!! I just need 7....
Maybe next week you can show me how to catch a few Palestine slabs!!
Y'all wish me luck.. I'm gonna need it... Cedar Creek is my nemesis and always do bad here! Later Taters.
