I use jump (aka butt rings,) ss, from LPO. Haven't had any problems with jigs up to 3/32nds (largest I do). There is a technique to using them and you can make your own. Lots of you tube stuff on them.

I also use the butt rings. Easier to use than a split ring . I only use split rings to hold hooks on.

Butt rings without a doubt are the easiest. However they do not hold as well as split rings. My buddies and I tend to drag through rocks a lot and split rings never loose a blade but butt rings loose them on occasion.

I use split rings only because I bought a lot of them from Hagens - they're 1/0 German split rings and they work well with the horse and pony heads and also on my beetle spin frames. They can't be used for attaching hooks as they're too light.

For hooks I have a 1000 Rosco's that I use.

I only use split rings also. I can put them on easy after doing them many times. The biggest thing is to get a pair of split ring pliers that you can use and fits right in your hand.
