Been re-stocking the panfish meat hanger jigs i used last year on the ice - mostly all bright color attention getters that end up with a waxworm/maggot. The jig in the center is just a standard 1/8th round head for size reference. ;) On the left are #8 Mustad jighooks and #8 Mustad 3366 sproat hooks with the eye bent 45 degs. or so. Both hook styles have small 3/0 round split shots crimped on. The sproat hooks did very well last year and through the summer as well with bluegill... will be making a few more. :D

Then just a few round 1/8th's that i re-shaped into shroom heads. These will end up bucktail thread necks for early spring bass. Have plenty of time to get these tied up.

So,is the powder painting better then the nail polishing ?You could probably get a job at a nail salon by now, lol.Very nicely done.

Thanks on the comments! :)

Salty - Oh yeah..... i am liking this but still finding that i can't do all the color 'effects' that i could with the nail polish. The iradecent (spelling?) nail polish is hard to match with powder paint - or at least i haven't learned how to do it yet. Still adding a few new colors here and there.

My wife and daughter are happy though. I turned over all of my colors but white, black, some glitter and Sally's HAN to them.

LH - i figure each pack of smokes i DON'T buy is darn near a jar of powder i can buy - starting to get a collection of colors.

RT - Nothing fancy..... start out with a standard 1/8 oz. jig in one hand and a file/rasp in the other. :P I use a large squared off one to start then a finer one with the rounded top to finish. Try to keep it the same size as the lead collar far up as i can go - pretty much till i start hitting the leg of the jig hook. They start out at 1/8 but might end up half that by the time i'm done.

Here is what i am trying to match - Gopher Tackle Mushroom Head - which is pretty much a Do-it Worm 'A' Jig but they offer it in smaller sizes that don't have as much of a 'nose' on them. :jig:
