Ive been watching the water level pretty closely the past few weeks waiting on the perfect time to fish one of my favorite river lakes. I finally caught it on a slow fall and at the right height! This time I longlined it for the first time. THe fish were really in there. I could have used a partner because the action was hot n heavy with 6 poles out! Kept 30 and had 8 over 1 3/4 lbs. I caught mostly whites this time but usually catch more blacks in the river lakes.

Heres a pic of the lake. The pen marks the spot. Its almost like 2 lakes in one. I usually prefer fishing the lake on the bottom. As you can see theres no shortage of river lakes just from this small stretch of the river.

Wow, that's a really nice mess of slabs. Seems like you've been fishing more this year than the last few years. Hope you get that 3lber soon.

Awesome catch Ronny. I love to fish river lakes but not many around here. Looks like the river has many to pick from. Congrats on the catch.

Redman we'll have to swap out fishin trips. I usually prefer to have someone tag along with me. I've tried to get Heath to go several times. Guess he just don't like me. Usually try it give him plenty of notice ahead of time.

Jungle I have enjoyed fishing again! The electronics I've put on my boat this year are worth more than my boat lol.

Ya boy Ronnie took me a little while to find that one on the earth google maps. You are fishing in a river lake not a Oxbow for sure. There looks to be one lake not two but think at some time in the past they might have been two separate lakes. Looking at the length of the lake they must have been stacked in like cord wood.
