Ok. It's official. I'm sick of snow and cold. I had a 60+ degree day on Friday really pushed my cabin fever to it's limits. I watched my fish in my pond go nuts with activity. Almost like the trouty spawning dance. However, I know nada about how goldfish spawn so maybe they were just acting weird?

'Cept they about jumped out of the water when I fed them. Hungry pigs they are!!

Then from 60+ degree on Friday it turned into 30 degrees on Saturday. Then Sunday night we got 10+ inches of snow.

My poor fish don't know what to think!!!

Now they are mulling about the heater trying to get away from the 6 pounds of slush on the top of the water.

I'm totally thinking spring! I miss these guys......

My August Montana flyfishing trip will NOT get here quick enough.....

Jeesh!!!! I will give you (and your fish) sympathy!!! Pretty much same thing happened here and it did push me into spring fever pretty bad. Warmed up to almost 60 degs over the last weekend... enough to get the winter dog bombs ripe and screw up the shore ice for fishing. :dodgy: Then we get 5"-6" of snow and 30mph+ winds out of the NE on monday. :s Oh yeah, it still is February. :-/ Winter weather advisory up now for thursday night - friday morning. :( Sure wish i could hidernate....... :sleepy:

I have the SAME weather advisory!!! You must live up on the north border of OH and the lake? I live 16 miles south of the NYS border smack dab in the middle of the "Northern Tier Counties" of Good 'ol Pee-Aye.

Yep, pretty close to the big lake. The one stop-light town of Attica is a 30 minute drive straight south of Sandusky/Cedar Point. Takes about 45 mins to get up to West Harbor (where my Dad's boat is docked) and another hour or so (depending on the weather) to get out to a little piece of smallmouth heaven known as the Bass Islands. If you are ever up this way...... LET ME KNOW!!! ;)

No snow here yet..... but looking at the radar, it will be shortly. Calling for anywhere between 5" to 10"+ but the 25-35 mph NE winds are going to seal the deal. :-/ On the up side - the boss paid me today and told me if the weather was bad in the morning, don't worry about coming to work!!! Uhhhhhhhh......... no problem chief. :D

UGH!!! My youngest is in the Army - he has to be at Ft Eustis Va on Monday at 6am - and he is driving - his route looks to take him past your area - he might be in for a rough time of it.....I just hope he gets going today - vs waiting until tomorrow morning....

And if I manage to hit Ohio in the summer - rest assured - I will be in touch.....

JJ'sJigs - How did you fair from the storm? Think this one was over hyped. I believe they are starting to issue these winter storm warnings so far in advance now just for the economic stimulus. (sp?) The grocery stores get crazy till the weather hits!

UG - If he came through the area before noon, it would have been a slow ride! I woke up on Friday and would have went right back to bed if not for my lovely children! I went out and took a pic, believe it or not, there is a woods about a quarter mile past the trees in the pic. (If you look at the 2nd pic, you CAN see them.) They were not there Friday AM.....

It did warm up and the snow quit around noon, roads were mostly just wet after that. The drifts got my driveway pretty good though - 2 solid hours of shovel time!

You come to OH, let me know for sure!!! My Dad is bigger into the walleye and perch of Erie, it takes some convincing (and decent winds/weather) to get him up around the ledges of the islands. Also have some extra kayaks for inland lakes. Heck - even just talking fishing over coffee would be fine by me. :)

Friday I awoke to 3" of snow, with sleet, and rain throughout the rest of the day. Friday into Saturday the temps dropped to about 10F and everything froze up solid. Last night we got 3" of snow. However today the high will be 42F and on Monday 52F. I'm thinking the Susquehanna River Basin will be flooding!!
