Small craw jigs

I got these nice little crawfish heads from CAT. Pretty realistic tails that weigh 1/16 on a #4 hook. Used rubber legs, hair, flash and hackle for the tail portion and CAT chenilles for the body. Putting these aside and plan on trying these at Lake Havasu next year on those monster red ear that are in there. Maybe catch a smallie or two as well. Baits are about two inches long. Those look good JJ. Bet the ears will eatem up. Texas toast I'm assuming? Bet the crappie would chew on em in your home lake too....

Might want to try a couple with a ball or put a bead on the end of the tye to flare out the claws...

I put some hair in between the claws to try and flare it a bit but wanted these to imitate a fleeing craw rather than one in a defensive posture. Still have a couple dozen heads left and I'll tie some with the flared claws, should just have to tie in the hackle with the curve going out instead of in. Sonny, got to try some of these at Havasu. NEED to find out the colors of the crawfish there.

More light brown and greens (based on the colors Keith had). Those jigs will work at Havasu for sure. Not to take away from the tye - the fish at Havasu will probably hit most anything. It is a huge lake and a lot of the fish probably never seen a hook in their life.

With the flare - the hackles will still pull in on the retrieve - when you stop they'll pop back out.
