Simple buggers

I usually use a double jig setup when fishing for perch and crappie. I tie a loop knot for the upper jig so I can change colors easily. It works, but I've never been happy with the way it makes the jig ride in the water, since the eye on most jigs is parallel to the hook shank. Plus the weight of the upper jig sometimes causes tangles and reduces the feel of the lower jig hitting the bottom when bottom bouncing.

I was going through my hook box and found a few dozen aberdeen hooks that I'm sure were snelled at one time. I rarely use them for bait, since live minnows are not allowed here, and worms just slide right off. So I used some to tie up these simple buggers thinking I could use them instead of a jig on the loop. They would also allow me to use a smaller bobber and lighter jig on the end. What do you think?
