Just got a new (lease) truck and REFUSE to let the dog or kids ride in it till we get some seat covers. Ok, maybe let the dog, but NOT the kids. :P So, does anyone have suggestions for decent seat covers that won't kill me pocket book? Truck is a Super Cab F150 so want to cover both front & back. Saw some online that are waterproof neoprene that looked good, but will put a pretty good hole in my wallet..... any one use neoprene covers? Canvas is cheaper, but kind of like the thought of waterproof.

Next will be a bed liner and possibly a box for the back...... if i even have a wallet left by then. No clue yet about loading the kayaks, will cross that bridge later. It shore is a purty truck though. :D

If you have a wallet left after the seats, I recommend RhinoLiner for the bed. Cuz has 250k miles on his, heavy construction use, and it looks almost like the day he bought it.

I'm liking the weathertec floor mats, but not even my wallet's fat enough to justify their cost.

I use to surf allot & neopream wet suits needed replacing every couple years - not sure how they'd hold up as seat covers though.

Congratulations. Ford trucks are nice. Though, I drove an F350 with its gas-sucking V10 around for a while...and don't miss its gas costs.

Neoprene may wear out quickly, depending on how thin it is. If given a choice of 3mm vs. 5mm material, choose the latter. The thicker, the better.

If you can live with the stiff and somewhat coarse feel of canvas, I'd go with that. Denim is another possibility. You could check with a seamstress about custom seat covers and the cost. It's something I'm considering for my Jeep.

Canvas or denim can always be protected from spills and stains by Scotchgard, which is nearly as good as waterproof.

Edit: There are products sold by the Finish Line and Kiwi for shoes that may work equally as well for the purpose of waterproofing/resistance. Just a thought.

Congrats on the new truck!:icon14:
I would go with the affordable and then hit them with scotch guard to make them waterproof. Never had neoprene seat covers but I don't think I personally would like them. Especially if you are in a humid environment. Although my feelings may be due to how I feel about neoprene waders vs breathable......I hate neoprene waders!

Those 'semi custom' covers sure are pricey. This is my first ever lease and feeling like i am trying to put the damn truck in a bubble. ha! Will see if i pull my hair out by the end of the 3 years or not. Got a bed mat (from Tractor Supply Co.) along with some nice deep floor mats, both front and back seats. I picked up a set (2) of covers from Autozone for the front seats and can say they suck. :dodgy: Luckily, still have the box & receipt so they will be going back. They had some Dickies brand ones there and i really liked the heavy canvas type feel of them....... thinking that i can really soak them down with Scotch stain spray (already got the Scotchguard sprayed on the actual seats) and keep it all clean as a whistle. Need to find the Dickies in black though....... to match the black tuxedo paint job. :D All these years i knew it was coming..... now i finally feel like a true hillbilly with some 17" Goodyear Wranglers under me............................ at least on the weekend. Still drive my 35 MPG 4cyl Cobalt back and forth to work all week.

Russ,
I wouldn't worry too much about it. I did the lease deal one time and they don't hit ya unless its really bad, every day stuff isn't a game changer. I know a lady that smokes like a freight train and drags three dogs every where she goes. I think she rotates every two years and if they don't hit her they ain't gonna spank anyone...

it is early but you may want to check and see if they have an end of lease check list that you can either download or get from the dealer. It tells you what they look for at the end of the lease when you get ready to end the lease if you are not planning to keep it or trade it in for a new lease vehicle.

I would vote for scotch guard and some old blankets. when going on expeditions, cover the seats with blankets and dont worry...Be happy. Seat covers are a great idea except. If they are water proof, they may create a stain because the seats cannot breathe. I've never seen seat covers that really felt or looked right. Sure some of the high end ones look good in pictures.

Biggest thing is to keep the seats vacuumed and clean. I hunted with a guy years ago that had beige carpet and beige interior. He put several towels on the floor and had a couple blankets that he draped over the seats whenever he anticipated a mess. 6 years later the seats and carpet looked brand new. we hauled dogs, got muddy and wet and just hopped in and went.

Sorry, belated as I just got back from a road trip. These are popular in Hawaii.

Got 10 years out of mine on an F150, best there is and priced accordingly. Surfer stuff is perfect for fishin' guys and these things handle anything. If neoprene, go with WetOkole as folks have problems with other neo-brands despite the better prices.

Very good fit, nice and comfy even in the dead of winter. A bit of a project to get on the seats with the strapping, but well worth it. Waiting on an order for the new Silverado, right along with the Weathertech floor liners.

(Rhino liner went 10 years as well, never a problem, go for it and forget about bed rust)
