I had a couple seasonal barley wines last night. Strong enough to make me shy around sharp hooks.

That should have numbed you up enough not to worry about getting poked a few times!! LOL

Numbed me up enough to go to bed an hour early & sleep until the alarm clock woke me up.

I like the Summer brews that have the bright bite more than the spiced Christmas ones in general..... but i will try them all. We get Shiner here, but i think only the Bock. Did try the Leinenkugle Christmas vanilla porter the other day - pretty rich and sweet for my taste - but not bad.

I am one of those suckers who likes to splurge on the over priced craft beers. Try each new one that comes out at least once. Favorites for me are the ones with a strong hop bite - just about any IPA - but will try them all. Goose Island 312 is EXCELLENT! Sam Adams latitude 48 is another good one. Great Lakes Brewing Co. makes a crazy strong Halloween brew. Drinking a new one tonight that i had never seen when i was at the store yesterday... Henry Weinhard's Woodland Pass IPA.

Get-togethers around the camp fire during the summer usually consist of coolers of cheap a$$ Silver Bullets. :p

Our taste's are very similar Russ,,,have become a big fan of the IPA's also 'Bullets and Keystone's are usually in the fridge for hanging out,but I experiment with lots of micro, and new brews..

One thing about this holiday from Shinner, its not a spice like you might expect with a holiday brew.Heavy on the wheat and barley,,,just an infusion on peaches and pecan's....And I dont do Pecans ;) this aint no girley fruit beer either..

Then you NEED to try a Goose Island 312 if you have it down there! Is it "legal" to do a six-pack-swap through the mail? I could send you a variety six of Great Lakes Brew..............
