We have a coyote epidemic in the area and for farmers, it's always open season. So occationally, if find some available for sale, so when the wife & I went to a local fair and I found some, snagged them.

Promised one to a board member along time ago, so finally I can make good on the promise.

That is quite the score. Love those long hair fiber tails.

There is an old timey type craft thing that happens twice a year near my home town and i know there is a guy that tans his own hides there. Hope to get me a skunk skin and tail..... or two. Dang admission will cost me more than the hides though. They've got a traditional blacksmith too that always has some cool stuff for the grill and campfire. Don't get me started on the home made apple dumplings and ice cream they force you to buy either.

Very Nice!! When those are dyed they should have a light center hair and dark edges. Got a pic of one at home I got from the local leather shop.

Hit the flea market this weekend and picked up a Johnson Century 100b orginal for $3 and it works great! Just got to clean it up and then the fly shop and picked up some more big chunks of black bear hide for $2 a piece, and went through the sale bins, Olive craft fur (hairline) a $1 and some chartreuse cactus chenille for 50 cents.
