Last night, I heard a squeak from my brakes. Yeah, Yeah, pads are overdue and rotors are about shot. So decided to do brakes this AM.

Hopped online to check price before going shopping. Best price I could find locally for the parts was 176.93 and online at rock auto 98.66 including shipping plus some additional parts that were separate items locally. Brakes gotta wait a few days. I'll live with the little squeak for a few days to save almost 80 bucks. (Thats enough truck and boat gas for 3-4 fishing trips)

Being a small biz owner makes me cringe any time i hear 'found it cheaper online' but i do know that some items from the big online shops are nearly impossible to compete with. Just make sure you are comparing apples to apples...... they sometimes get you with lower quality items that a local small biz will not stock...... because they are junk.

I agree to a point. However this vendor has outstanding customer service. NQA returns policy and very helpful techs to answer any questions. Case in point, several years ago, I needed rotors for my Old Explorer as the original ones were too thin to turn. I bought new ones from my local auto parts store and upon getting them home discovered that they were already below limits. Took them back and was told they are within specs, no returns only exchange. None were in stock would need to wait 2 days for another set to arrive from warehouse. All the chain parts stores carry the same products and they carry some real junk.

As I am a rarity in todays society, (I keep my vehicles up and running as long as possible). I find parts where I can and budget is important. I find I can often buy better parts online and for less money.
