I managed to toss it a few time yesterday, it looked great, nothing hooked. Only problem, the big gills kept hitting my other rod and reel. Caught over 70 yesterday kept 38, all 38 were 10 inches or better. The red worms and crickets were the best. Maybe another day.

I like it better without the tube. I think the profile is fine without it and adding the spinner blade is a nice touch and should catch lot's of fish. Sounds like you have a great little gill fishing hole, I'd keep that place under my hat. I haven't caught that many over 10 inches my whole life and most have been caught out in California fishing with Sonny.

I was very surprised they were still on the nest in Southern Indiana. I'm sure the full moon had a lot to do with it also. I wish we had tried some deeper water at the cleaning house a guy was in there with several 12+'s. He said he caught all of them in 12-15 ft of water. Ours were in about 24 inches of water.
