The worm nosed jig head is hidden under the crayfish tail. The hook rides point up to reduce snags. This jig has been a serious bass getter on the Susquehanna River this year. For muddy high water I tied a flat black color so the fish could see it. Spring I tied a flat brown crayfish, when they first become active they are "mud" colored. In mid summer I made a tan-olive crayfish to mimic the seasonal molted crayfish color.
Then in the fall the deep rusty-red color works best.
