Tied a couple of these critters using Lion Brand Suede chenille yarn. The color is canyon. I believe it's been discontinued. It's a heckuva nice-looking color.

Used a reddish-brown and black silicone skirt tab and brown craft fur to complete each tie. Jigs are 1/8-oz. football heads (glossy-brown) with #1 bronze sickle hooks.

Thanks for your comment RD. :)

I hope that I can interest a few smallmouth bass with them this weekend.

If not, I'd probably be happy to catch a rock bass or two. ;)

Very cool jigs - and that color chenille does look good - good match with the silicone material as well.

You have open water over your way?? Still locked in here but upper 50's on thursday will put a dent in the ice. Gonna take a while though and have a feeling the rivers will be blown out for a LONG while. :-/ Good luck fishing!!!

Thanks AF. :)

You bring up a good point about rising water levels. My area had lots of snow with fairly little snow melt this winter. Now, the melting is immediate with the arrival of unseasonably warm temperatures in my area. Checked the USGS graph for the river and noticed "noise" on the graph from a few days ago. This "noise" indicates ice flow to me. Recent daily flow rates (cubic feet per second) show a rising trend, according to the graph, from previous levels that were well below normal for this time of year.

Might just do some scouting and bring a rod along for grins this weekend. :jig:
