Tied a few jigs tonight for bass and walleye. All are tied on 3/16-oz. ball heads with # 1 hooks.

The chenille and yarn jigs are combinations using purple and violet. Hair jigs are violet/yellow and purple/yellow. Purple and yellow combinations have worked well for me when swimming them for river smallmouth bass.

Purples and violets are extremely tough for me to photograph well. Blue hues seem to prevail. Suggestions concerning photographing purples and violets are welcomed.

Purple/yellow is a favorite for springtime walleye over the reefs on Erie. All look good!

Going to post down in the OT Board about the pic here: Pup - Photo Question Don't wanna hijack your post into a photo discussion - i tend to go on & on sometimes.

Thanks Atticafish. :)

These are the last two of my ties for tonight.

I really think that the top jig will work for largemouth bass as a stand-up jig. Its coloration is similar to the old "Tequila Sunrise" that was popular for plastic worms. The second one will be a swimmer. I've had smallies go crazy over purple and yellow paddle tail swimbaits. I hope they'll oblige when a hair version is presented. ;)

Also, I really enjoyed tying each jig with rod winding thread. Wish I could tie all of my jigs with it and still maintain their proportions and appearance. :)

Pup - excellent tyes - wish you would do a tutorial

Not sure if this will help; might try a gray or different color background. I've been using daylight fluorescent bulbs in my lamps (3) for photo (& tying) lighting. You can use a combination of cool white with daylight also. I need to start using diffusers with them.

Led,

Thanks for your compliment and suggestions. I'll see if I can address a tutorial sometime soon, though more likely after the holidays.
