I know I keep a stash of Priority Mail box's at the house so I'm always ready to pack stuff up to get it out but just a heads up for anyone else who does this too!!!! If you have any Priority Mail box's and they say

Priority Mail - Mailing Box (doesn't matter what size) put em in the recycling bin!!!

All the new box's have to say Small Flat Rate Box, Medium blah blah blah.

If you try and use them they'll cost you. Traded a mold and had it packed in the PM - Mailing Box and they wanted $17!!!!! but in the PM Small Flat Rate Box $5.35.

Don't want to pay more than you have too!!!!!!!!

The USPS boxes I have that do not say ..Flat Rate...I use for storage or recycle the old ones....without ..Flat Rate....these boxes can cost you a small fortune to mail...:beat-up:

Doc

I'm only talking about the box's that say PM - Mailing Box, nothing else. The reason I said to recycle them is the Post Office doesn't want them back. If people are gonna use them for storage that's up to them. For flat rate PM they have to have the printing saying Small, Medium, Large Flat rate box, or you don't get the rate for them.

Truthfully I think I need to look at the cost of the Regional Box's. Had never considered them but with your comment I'm gonna!!!!!!!! Thanks for the tip.

The two local POs I frequent have the nicest people - pretty much first name. But, tried to order some Priority flat rate padded envelopes registering as a bizness at USPS online months ago and never got them. Seems the locals don't inventory them either, maybe for the reason Doc stated.

?!?!?
I re used an old priority box that was sent to me, to send Bruce some stuff. Real light and think it was $12. Some bucktail, craft hair and a fluid bed and cup. Went out same time as 3 other mailing envelopes I guess maybe two weeks ago on a fri. Everyone else got theres' middle of the next week. Think this may be the reason it's still MIA? I never ship anything so I'm lost in this.

We recycle used mailers without problem, but have to be careful to black out previous mailing info and barcode if any. Sometimes the Postal Service messes up. Here is tracking info for some undelivered scales I bought on eBay in Jan. and supposedly shipped Priority Mail.
"Your item was processed through our RICHMOND, CA 94804 facility on January 07, 2012 at 5:13 am. No further information is available for this item."

Hopefully, Salty's stuff is just temporarily delayed.

Didn't know you could call - I'll go check.

My local PO said they can't do anything, and the eBay Seller has ignored my request to investigate.

"going into the sort facility but never leaving" sounds familiar...good job opportunity for someone running a flea market booth.

Navigating USPS customer phone service was tedious. First round of auto menus was a dead end. Changed up on the second & got to talk to someone who referred me to Richmond CA post office who referred me to Oakland customer service who referred me to lost & found in GA. Waiting...but not very hopeful.
