Ever since they have come out with 3D eyes. I have been trying to incorporate them into my ice fishing lures. In the upper left hand corner is eyes only lures. Just the eyes on a hook with clear cure goo on it to hold in place. The barrel swivel is a # 16 to give idea of size. The real small ones I like to tip with one maggot.

Lower left hand corner is an old 1/8 oz heddon Sonar. Eyes installed on top of old faded painted ones.

The others are eyed spoon and sunfish jigs with a large eye on each side.
The cheek pieced eyes I like because of flash in the cheek area. Covered with the clear cure goo it looks like a glass minnow head.

Due to shortage of ice last 3 year really cannot comment on how effective they are. But slightly different one have worked in the past and I believe these will work even better. If only I get the chance to prove it this winter.

Hats off to you guys that fish on ice . I'm a wuss . Think I'll just sit by the fire . Course i haven't seen ice more than an inch thick in so long I can't remember . Dip those in epoxy a few times will help the eyes to stand out more even palmer a few feathers on the shank . Great looking stuff. Guess I ought to shut up all I know bout ice is it will freeze your buns if ya sit flat on it .

love me some ice fishing! we had a long winter here. I was ice fishing well into April this year. about an hour and a half north of me they were ice fishing on the first weekend of may yet.... crazy.... and hey, an inch is enough! walk out on plywood! and yes I've fallen through. 7 times, once I came up and couldn't find the hole, that freaked me out. part of the game though I guess. ok its 90 degrees here and now I wanna ice fish... 4 months to go!
