popper in progress

Been playing with Balsa wood. Those eyes gave me fits! I messed up several before I was happy. They are made from aluminum foil and electrical tape. I need to open wallet and order some 3d eyes I guess. I'm always trying to do things the hard way. I'm not sure what direction to go in now, but I guess I'll do some marabou, hackle and silli legs .

I can do better. I can provide the link that taught me. I'm not opposed to proving a how to on how I made mine, but I want to give credit where credit is due. User Pogo from The Texas Fishing Forum is who provided a how-to for me. If you still have questions let me know and I'll glad snap some pictures and do a how to for you.

As far as how I did the eyes, I used a paper hole punch for the aluminum foil and a hollow punch for the electrical tape. The hollow punch set is a cheap set from Harbor Freight.

Awesome-looking popper. Paper punches are excellent 'eye' crafting tools. Have never used a hollow punch...will try one someday.

Nice looking popper. Popper are enjoyable to work on as there are so many ways you can do the heads and bodies. Good job on your popper.

I luv that store. One just opened up a mile from my house & I'm not allowed to go in with my credit card any more.
