Nice jigs! Seeing you play with mylar is giving me ideas. There´s a classic danish sea trout streamer tied with nothing more but mylar and red thread, the juletrea or christmas tree as it sparkles like its from out of this world. It never ocurred to me that mylar could be used in a jig as it is usually pushed over the eye and shank, which is impossible to do with a jig head. But why not try to carefully push the mylar over the hook bend.
The christmas tree streamer, tied in small sizes, has distinguished itself as a effective winter pattern, especially for the many fat rainbow fish farm excapees up there.

Good looking jigs there. Have you tried testing them in water? How's the action on the mylar?

I've seen videos people using mylar body material and threading it over the hook point when tying flies. Some patterns just don't work any other way. It helps if you cover the hook point with a tiny piece of foam, cork or rubber eraser. That way it won't catch on the material.

Shoe...used them spider rigging and worked out well in the past and trolling. Actually for the first time they are on a you tube video guy crappie fishing in Florida last November so the "cat" is out of the bag for all. I used the top one dock shooting last year and did pretty good. The mylar "bounces" pretty good in the water. Durable material plus cheap! The copper wire or gold wraps I have not tried as much for crappies. That trick worked better in the past for gills.

Nice tying. I like the shad-darts with a thread body/neck because of the short hook shank you have to work with. The Mylar tubing works well on jigs for jigging and shooting docks.

Great jigs. I caught lots of fish with Mylar I'll have to dig it back out. I like to put it on whole sometimes and get a lighter and melt the bottom an smoosh it together on a tube jig. Then once it gets beat up ill cut it and Frey it like yours sometimes. Bad thing about doing it whole is hooks from other jigs get caught in them and it's a pain to get out.
I'm getting it out now and doing some like yours with the chinelle. Thanks for the ideas.
