Had a order to get processed 500 1/32 oz in asst colors and really got bored with the monotony and started messing around with tapping. While second lot of jigs were curing I started playing with some ideas for tap coating, (The first I grabbed a sandwich). Did a handful of jigs trying to make them all look the same, need more practice. Heard the timer ding and kept on playing with the tap coating and next thing I knew 45 minutes had passed.
Did another 100 and got them curing and went back to tapping. It sure is fun. Timer dinged and I stopped playing and did the next lot. Got them in the oven at 10:45am and went back to tapping. Phone rang and it was they guy wanting to pick up his jigs. OOOOps, I said the last lot is going in the oven, be about 25 minutes, Perfect he said, I'm leaving work and gonna stop by on my way home (He gets off at 2pm). Hustle, hustle to finish the last group.

Knocking on the door as I finished bagging the last lot of 100. typical BS session and he was looking at my tap coated minnow heads. Really liked what he saw and asked if I could make him a couple hundred with wire keepers before his next trip (first weekend in May). Thinking about the time spent making a handful, going through my head is don't do em for free. I know my price for PC and its satisfactory. I quadrupled it and added in price of eyes and he did not hesitate. "Sounds like a couple bottles of Old Bushmills are in order".

I'm either gonna get good at tapping or loose my shirt. Going to be fun but hopefully will not become a chore.

The words "Just Say No" sometimes apply!!!!LOL You'll get really good or you'll start throwing stuff!!

Walls are concrete and thrown things have a funny habit of bouncing back and hitting me in the face.

Painting is the easy part. It's getting all them dang eyes stuck is what's takes my time. But the margins are still much better painting vs tying IMO.

RadTexan,
I have been having a lot of success as a last step before cure is to heat the head, then apply the eye to the still soft PC. Repeat for other side. just heat enough to make powder soft.

I cure most of my powder at 275 for 30 minutes and so far seems to stick and have excellent durability. Some eyes will slip but I think that is an applicator error, just not sure what I did wrong.

I've drug minnow heads with the seated in soft pc then cured eyes thru lots of rocks and have yet to have one come off
