I can see the chenille going on for storage purpose but the tinsel already comes on a spool and with that type of spool it would give the tinsel a permanent bend but that depends on what kind of tinsel you're talking about. I use my tinsel 2 different ways, I use it to add flash to a body by wrapping up the hook shank and I also cut pieces off to use like flashabou because it is the same width, .069", and I don't have short pieces all over, I really like using it now but it wouldn't work the way I use it if you put it on a small spool like that.

I thought I would offer a little update on my plastic bobbin purchase.
For me they work great, especially since I found this bobbin for chenille.

Keep in mind I'm still using an old school vise, which, I should add I have complained nightly about and I have a keen sense that tomorrow I might possibly have a new rotary.
Back on track the plastic bobbins work great best $5 I've spent in a while.
