Here is a pic of Port Fourchon.... in South Louisiana. I was heading in to this port, when I decided to head west to Galveston, Tx instead. The roads are 4' under water. The boats in the picture are tied to the dock!!! I am glad I turned west!!!!

Hawn.... I kept getting updates on storm coming further west... Originally it was called to hit panhandle of Florida... I have rode out storms in port Fourchon before... And wished I wasn't there.... So it didn't take long to decide to turn west! I have 54 people on board this boat, and I am responsible for their safety... That picture says it all.. That's not safe!!! That port is still under water.... And will probably be closed for a while. Galveston was the best choice!

Hawn, the weather forecast for Saturday here in St.Louis is calling for as much as 6 inches of rain in some areas. We certainly could use it,just not all at one time.

You done good hedin west .. Low power Storm but slow movin made it rough for low lyin areas .. I hope they get plenty of rain up river to off set the troubles on the lower end ... The drought has been bad ... I know they will take relief anyway they can get it ... though it will not help those who went underwater .. a lot of "Disrupting" went on all long the Gulf Coast .. just happened during the low end of the tourist season here in the Panhandle ... When schools start things get quite around here for a while ... If we have a big crowd evacuation gets to be real bad .. "Across The Bay" evacuate earlier so they can get across the bridges which are closed at about 40 mph of sustained wind ... got caught over there a few years back and took me 4 hours to go 20 miles home.
Mother Nature does her thing .. we just have to adjust and thats what you did.
