Pflueger Medalist 1494 at the flea market

Picked up a nice Pflueger Medalist 1494 at the flea market today, it's got scuffs on it but will make a nice fishing reel

Those are just signs of use, and not abuse... Bet it will work fine.

Looks like a golden oldie. The Medalist is a classic fly reel, much in demand by fishermen and collectors. Here is a great write up on this reel.

Got a 1494 1/2 two years ago and it has been well used. Just have to clean this one up and I have an extra fly line to put on it.

I've seen the articles on the brand new ones and they're quite pricey!

You can't go wrong with the Pflueger Medalist reel. This one looks like it has been in a few battles and I wish you many more battles with it. Even though, I don't fly fish anymore, I can tell you that this ol' standard reel is all that is necessary. Save your money and fish it with pride!
