I sold a hand painted resin dragon figurine for $200 on eBay. It's a limited edition figure from a line that was only available in Europe. There were only 2500 made, and production ended about 8 years ago. Since it had to be specially imported from England, there's probably only a handful of them in North America.
In spite of wrapping the figure in so much bubble wrap it looked like a basketball, placing it in a box filled with styrofoam peanuts then placing that box in another box also filled with peanuts, they still managed to break it.
At least I had the foresight to put insurance on the package. I opted for insurance through eBay rather than USPS since they're supposed to be faster with claims, but I'm out the $16 shipping cost.
