This is a tutorial on twisting wire and peacock herl to form a rope that can be used for body material on a jig.
Wire and herl – herl from around the eye is best.

Trim of fibers from the shaft – have found it easier to do this from the back

12” piece of wire with a twisted loop in the center - the ends of the herl are even

Bend the wire ends at right angles to the loop

Attach hackle pliers; trap (not real tight) the wire herl between thumb & forefinger then pull while twisting the hackle pliers
