Been out of work since last April with my back again and after 9 1/2 months I FINALLY get to go back on 5 January!! It was either let me come back or medical retirement, if anything else happens with it will probably come to that.

I too have a bad back and I understand. Glad your gettin to start working again, but I'm puttin off the medical as long as possible!

Good to here you are going to be able to get back to work. Back problems suck.... not sure i even wanna know what (all) is wrong with mine.

Good to be getting back to work. Back problems suck big time. Worst part is personal hygene after....... well until to really have back pain, you will not understand.

AF..... if you have problems, find out what they are, sometimes a few simple excercises done properly and religiously go a long way to preventing a small issue from becoming a debilitating condition.

Medical retirement is not a good thing. Been off for over 4 years now! Mine is a botched surgery and having to deal with post op chronic pain. If you have disability insurance you should max it out before you have to go out.
Use to carry 100% until right before I had to go out - of course the year I go out is the year I stopped carrying it. Luckily my job did provide 70%. Very fortunate to work for a company that really helped out with the transition.

About 20 years ago had to have a disk repaired in my lower back. Still working now. Once a year b/c I smoke DR. has me get a chest x- ray. Every time it comes back. My lungs are fine. But there is a list of all the bad disks in my back. I think last year there was like 5 of them. At 60 years old, when I get out of my work truck it takes a few more steps to get walking up right. But what the heck. I can still go to work. I think the work keeps me moving around better.
