Back in about 1986, My aunt and I were at The Old Corner Drug Store in West, Texas. She spotted a clock made from a skillet. She really liked it, but I told her I could make for half of the price. I went to Waco later that week and bought the necessary materials and made it for her. It hung in her Kitchen/Dining area until she passed away. I was asked what I wanted of hers and this is one of the items I wanted.
I moved a few years later and had to put some of my items in storage. The storage unit leaked and this clock rusted pretty bad. I put it on my list to repair and forgot about it until a couple of weeks ago. I took a brush and scrubbed off the rust. I put a new coat of paint, motor, and face. It looks quite different than when I first made it. When I made it for her, she wanted it black with Roman numerals. I decided to change it a bit. It's hard to judge from the picture, but it's a tiny 5" cast Iron skillet. I haven't been able to find one this small anymore.
