So many times I read opinions about jig tying materials on the web where if a product isn't marketed by a fly or jig tying supplier, then the vibe is generally negative. If you read these same opinions, do not give in to them without first seeing what hobby, craft, and fabric stores offer. You might just be surprised.

Here are photos of a couple of feet of craft fur that I purchased at Hancock Fabrics in Carmel, Indiana. Now where are you going to find grizzly craft fur locally or on the web?

Granted, I haven't field tested either of these and so it remains to be seen if the material is colorfast. Regardless of the outcome, it's going to be fun doing the tying and testing! :)

Even if it bleaches out after a while,it would be good as long as it gives you the action that you are looking for.May even do better when the color is gone.I'm sure that the differance in price would make it alright even if you had to recyle the jigs afterwards.More tying too, lol.

Thank you for your comments Everyone. :)

FM,

You can find the material at this link:

http://www.hancockfabrics.com/search.htm?numHits=24&query=Nesa+fur&path=&x=23&y=15

It's called Nesa Fall Red Fur Fabric and Nesa Fall Blue Fur Fabric. I tried to Google it and found it only at Hancock Fabrics. However, I didn't read past page 2 of my search.

The drawback to ordering online is that the site's shopping cart is set up for orders by the yard. I visited their store where I was able to purchase it by the foot.

That stuff makes good jigs . It's one of the things that was more available in my early years . Some of my sisters toys wound up missing its prominent hair . Ever seen a troll with a flat top or does anybody remember those things .

I think the stuff looks great! If nothing else, it's a good reason to tag along with your wife when she says she wants to go to one of these stores!

Your in trouble now . I think my ten year old saw a scalped troll . If she sees my craft fur I'm telling her fatman killed the trolls and sent me there scalps . She will be waiting to part your hair there Pardner.
