Greetings All,

This past summer I took up the sport of kayak fishing. I am very lucky to live very close to one of Southern Ontario's most prolific Smallmouth rivers. Kayaking has given me a whole new passion and renewed vigor for fishing after a 12 year hiatus. Late this season, I discovered how effective a hair jig can be on catching cold water bass. I've since started tying all sorts of patterns including rabbit leaches, black bear, and crawfish jigs in anticipation of next season. I came across this wonderful site in my search for info on tying hair jigs; well done everyone! Hopefully I can contribute in the future!

Welcome aboard. Nice catch and good looking jigs. I have also got into kayak fishing some local rivers and small lakes and am having a great time.

A Big Howdy from Deep East Texas. Nice rig and good looking fish and jig. There are more than a few threads on hair jigs just use the search bar to explore and learn. I did a thread on Iowa walleye jigs that were hair and feathers but believe me they will work on smallmouth as well. We are a friendly bunch so sit back and enjoy yourself.
