No power....Again

You might remember a couple months ago storms came though and a big limb fell on my powerline and pulled the meter base off the wall. Well It happened again! This time no storm or wind though. Just heard the limb cracking and then the power went off. Went outside to see what it was and DejaVu!

Electrician said he'd be here in a few minutes. I called him back after an hour of not showing up and he says I'll be there in just a minute I stopped to get a drink. Took him another hour to get here after that. Of course he didn't have the parts so he went to get them saying he'd be back asap! Well I still haven't heard back from that scumbag! I raised a lil cane with his boss. Called another company this morning.... Hour and a half after I called the job is done. Just waiting on Entergy to reconnect. Lol I bet No one has ever had a bad experience with someone before, huh! Thanks for listening to mine!

Some people in certain lines of work know there will always be business for them and think that they can treat people any way they like. They do not seem to realize word of mouth can make them or break them.

Give'm h### Ronnie , Good that you called and raised a ruck-us !!! Been in the same situation a while back with a vehicle . Glad you got your power back !!! Can you go underground from the pole to your meter ?

Underground would be the best fix. My wife's been on me about having the tree cut. I really really don't want to because I like the tree. It's got to be 100 yr old pecan that shades the whole backyard. But how many more big limbs have to fall before I get the hint. The limb wasn't rotten at all not sure why she broke with no wind. Guess it's just so dry.

Update on SOB from last night. He just left a voicemail at noon saying "I know I didn't call you back last night but uh uh my wheelbearing went out an I lost track of time! But I need to talk to you!". Haha lost track of 16 hrs....

Downed lines are scarey - was the pulled box hot? Could the pecan be pruned?

There are lolos (Hawn word, you can guess the meaning) in every trade. Couple weeks back, our power blinked off for a few seconds, so I went outside for a look, and our neighbor also out on the street said he thinks a tree trim crew down the road might have clipped a line. I hear a chainsaw going so walked over to watch and tho the operator was hidden by brush, could hear where he was. As I was standing there on the unpaved back road, the trunk cracked and the tree started falling straight towards me. Wasn't huge, maybe a foot in diameter at the base, but long and lanky enuf to land on the hot lines above me which fortunately didn't break. Of course I scooted away but man sparks went flying and the leaves on the contact boughs caught fire. I guess these lines have safety breakers cuz eventually the crackling stopped, or maybe the conductive moisture got fried out. At least the lolos had sense enuf to call the electric co. and not try to free the tree themselves.

When the limb hit it got the breaker on their main line. Didn't trip it... fried it. That knocked out 7 power to 7 ppl.

Pretty much all the limbs would have to be cut so pruning it would make it be a trunk!

Good that you have power again. We have a lot of outages because on tree limbs, it's a #$'!%...

I'm pulling so much power the bill came in at 300 bucks . I gotta find out what is doing that . Taking the lead from Ron gonna start chopping down things and work my way threw all the appliances and shop gizmos . My first suspect is the hot water Tank .
