New way of threading bobbins

Decided to experiment with a way of threading bobbins. I took a long needle with a large eye and slip it through the bobbin tube and it worked great.

Thread the needle

Slide it through the barrel of the bobbin

Pull the thread from the needle and you're all threaded

I gave up on the threading tools........ start the thread in the bottom of the bobbin - suck it through. ;)

No offense Fatman, but my bobbin threader is a lot easier to put the thread through than even a needle with a large eye...lol. I like the though behind it but it would take me 3 or 4 trys to get the thread through the eye of the needle making my threader much faster, at least for me.

I thought it would be hard getting the needle threaded but even with the bi-focals it's a snap - I do need to get a bunch more bobbins though!!!

Finally upgraded to a coupla $5 ceramics, and without trying the other methods think the floss threader is good enuf for me.

I like it Doug. I have some needles that will work. Just broke my threader so this is just the trick I was looking for. You can never have enough bobbins. I have 10 and never have the right color thread loaded....

Use to suck until I started using Kevlar. Not even Jenny Jamison has enough suction to pull that thread through a bobbin.

Now I use a bobbin threader. Every now & then you need to open up the wire manually, but that's easy.

The Redman gave up sucking along time ago. Heck I even have trouble with the bobbin threader finding the big eye. That is what happens when you get really old like me. As they say " Youth is wasted on the Young."

I'll agree with just sucking........until the day I do it and a spider is housed in there. (Workshop in the garage lol)

One of the reasons I tried it is I didn't want to put a wire bobbin threader inside a ceramic bobbin, for the longest time used a piece of mononfiliment. Been trying this for a couple of weeks now
