I am new to tying and new here also, thanks to crappiehappy inviting me to the site.I have looked at a lot of other folks jigs and they all look different so trying to figure out if I am on the right track or it really does not matter how the hackle is tied in.Here are a couple of my first jigs,go easy on me but will take all the help I can get.
Thanks and glad to be a part of the addiction!!!!

First, welcome aboard from Vermont!!!!!!!!!

Those are excellent ties!!!!!!!!! You kept the body above the tip of the hook, every thing is proportioned just right. Now that you got em tied up you'll have to post a pic of the first fish you catch on one of them.

Again welcome aboard!!!!!

Those are fine . Not a thing wrong with them . Hackle is tied in any fashion you want to achieve the type of presentation you desire . Tie them on a string and jig them in a fish bowl . If you don't like what you see try a different tie .

Nothing wrong with those jigs, they look good to me. crappiehappy is quite the recruiter. Must be some kind of contest to see who can bring in the most tiers. Sure hope he paid you more than he paid me. lol

Wow - that is a great start! Don't think there is a right or wrong way as long as it stays together. Welcome to the site as well!

some kind of contest to see who can bring in the most tiers.

...and he is winning! Sure hope he doesn't ask for comission. :P

Very nice, better than my first one's for sure. Now I would tie several of each color because you are bound to lose a few. It never seems to fail that the hot color of the day you'll lose for sure.

A Bigg Howdy from East Texas. Yes you are on the right track. Looking Good Nicely Done. If no one has told you yet there are a bunch of tutorials on jig tying here on this site. If you go to the home page there should be a menu that you can go to they are very good ease to follow. You can also use the search to bring up some that are in the threads. This site is a great resource for the jig tier.

This is a great place to get lost for a few hours. Increase your knowledge of jig tying and have good clean fun and fellowship. Welcome aboard and have fun, enjoy.
