I tell CJ, I haven't gotten service like that before, ever. I placed the order Friday afternoon with Front Range Anglers in Boulder Colorado. They shipped it out Friday afternoon Fed X ground with delivery confirmation for Wednesday. I ran the tracking number this morning and it was already in San Angelo out for delivery.... and on my door step @ 10:35 AM. And FRA were great people to work with...

Heath, its going to take a little getting used to, the cradle and all, but man its smoooooooooth and the base is SOLID. Shipping weight was 6 lbs. Quality control dropped the ball on a couple things, but they are cosmetic and don't effect the operation of the vise...

FM, I know the sticker is high, but I can't imagine me needing another vise. This un should handle most anything I through at it. I've been researching these things for a couple of months and waiting for December. My Christmas bonus from work will pay for it, and I should have it before any charges on the card.

And there isn't anything wrong with a Kingfisher... great vises!!!

Thanks Rad and Led.... That one is from some of the material the boys on the other swap sent me...

Thank you for the comments, it was a tough decision because there are bunch of great vises to choose from but this one fits me well. We should have a long time together. As for the jig, I wanted to try something I haven't done before. The only thing I can tell ya for sure is the paint color. All the other components were given to me by a bunch of great tyers on a jig swap. Chenille I think is white flash. Tail is Chart. craft fur. Not sure about the flash, or the eyes but they are covered with a coat of Sally's. And the powder is HF red mixed 1/1.5 with the clear we got from Rad the other day....

I made a comment at the first of this thread that I was pleased with my Peak vise except for a QC issue. When I opened the package there was a scratch and a ding on the handle that turns the shaft. I called Peak this morning and explained the problem and no questions asked they are sending a new handle... Way to go Peak I'm happy!

I'm on my second Peak....when I quit fly fishing I foolishly sold my first one with no idea I'd be tying jigs in the future. I've worked in aerospace for over 30 years with the last 11 being in a precision machine shop environment and I can say that the materials, fit, and finish on a Peak vise are as good as we produce daily. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? H*ll yes!
