I generally keep skin covered for fishing instead of using any kind of sun protection sprays or creams. My wife purchased me some new shirts. Normally do not post on OT but thought I would share. Great shirt from Hanes for only $8.94 from WalMart. Wife ordered me light blue, gray and white. All look nice. Wicking style material and a great price!

I went to long shirts a couple years ago and a big hat. I feel a lot better coming off the water not beat on by the sun.

Great to protect yourself from the sun. Been fishing with someone who now has melanoma from fishing. Cover up and wear sunscreen! Don't forget the rays bouncing off the water that hats don't block.

Wow, Hanes finally incorporated poly wicking. I've always preferred Hanes for cotton Ts - hopefully they'll tech upgrade their hoodies too.

I was looking for some long sleeve t's at Target before my trip to Cal a few weeks ago but couldn't find them, had to settle for a couple a couple long sleeve shirts, one I actually like. I cringe when I look at pictures of me in my 20's wearing bib's without a shirt. Probably why I avoid the hot, sunny parts of the day now and fish early or late.

Great shirts for fishing or undergarments on a spring turkey hunt. Try Bullfrog sunscreen for a non-greasy waterproof covering on exposed skin.

I have been reluctant, but coming around to the 100% polyester styles that Under Armour made very popular over the last few years. The new technology sure makes them feel thin and lightweight. We sell a TON of them out of our shop. As a small biz retail shop owner, i despise that little UA logo just about as much as the Nike swoosh. You simply pay extra for a logo and lower quality...... I am just the 'little guy' talking though. Majority of our sales are not the name brands and most (older) people like them. Better quality, equal (or lesser) cost.

Badger Sportswear is a brand that we have really been selling a lot of. They have some high quality 'Tech' sweatshirts as well. Just watch the ounce weight so you know what you are getting.

Sport-Tek is another big player in the game and has some quality stuff at excellent prices!

I urge you to check your local team sporting goods shop and tell them you want to get at least 12 or more shirts. They should let you mix/match colors if you want. The off brands are made in the same factories....... just different labels. ;)

........of course it costs a little more than a traditional 100% cotton or 50/50 cotton/poly shirt, but i will probably offer some moisture management shirts in the clothing sale this year. Once little league baseball settles down i plan to sell some shirts. Have to see how it works out.

SPF 50. http://reviews.hanes.com/1006/24270/reviews.htm

Under $10 for Hanes performance is a super deal, assuming quality is good. One of the last batch of Hanes cotton Beefy Tees I bought had a bad one - the bottom hem stitching unwraveled after a few washings. I've been buying USED Patagonia Capilene performance tees on eBay for $20 - new at a store runs $50-$80 !

Currently considering this Under Armour performance hoodie cuz its waterproof. Options?

RD not sure about the UV protection but I know they appear to work nice in the sun so far!
