Our family researched several different breeds of dogs after our family basset passed away....... none of us wanted any other breed.

Found some puppies that were pretty close by and picked up our new pup last Saturday. To make sure there was some distinction from our last basset, we choose a female that was tri-color. Four names went in a hat and the name Candy was chosen. Still very young, only about 7-8 weeks old now. Our outdoor mouse hunters (aka: cats) tower over top of her! Need to get some better pictures......

Loves to be inside and under everything. Her bed is a clothes basket turned on its side with my wife's old jacket hanging over top. If she gets spooked, she puts her head inside leaving her butt hanging out. :)

My brother owned a basset hound for many years. Was a great little dog. Very intelligent and entertaining too. Congratulations on your adoption.

Got to love them big ears and feet. Clumsy and cuddly you just have to love them. Congratulation on the new member of the family.

Congrats on the new family member!! She looks adorable as do most bassetts and it looks as if she is already bringing joy into your hearts.

She is a little handful - and energy level rising each day. Not doing too bad with house training as long as we keep our eye on her, has her share of accidents though. Clumsy as heck too...... she got 'top heavy' trying to walk along the bank of our pond today and barrel rolled down the edge and into the (cold) water.
