This site was recommended to me by hawnjigs and I looked around for a week before I finally registered. There appears to be a plethora of info on this forum regarding jig tying and powder coating, both of which are of interest to me. I appreciate the open registry and plan on contributing to the discussions soon. Thanks for a great site!

Thanks for all the greetings. I just received all the supplies necessary to start tying some jig patterns. I have been fly fishing for about 6 years and already have a lot of materials that can be used for making jigs. I am going to start by powder coating some jig heads purchased from hawnjigs. His work is really clean and environmentally friendly with non toxic alloys. Now if I can apply a coating without melting the heads off?

Spotail , you should be able to apply a coating without melting the heads off... what do you plan on using as a heat source? some people use heatguns, embossing guns, etc. I used a heatgun at first , but now use a alcohol burner.. best of luck. feel free to post up any ?'s in the painting section and we will try to get ya fixed up.
