I picked up this walleye jig mold with a recessed eye recently and been busy pouring ,painting and tying a few.Smallest head is 1/16 through 5/8 oz. but I've been working with only the three smaller sizes including the odd size 3/32. I'll show a few finished baits in 1/16 and 3/32,figured these might interest a few crappie. The mold has a barb and ring collar and I cut off the barb section, leaving the ring portion closer to the head. At the last sport show I attended I spoke with a guide/crappie masters tournament fisherman who had finished 2nd in 2010 and 3rd in 2011 in the crappie classic. He told me his hot baits the last couple of years was a 3/32 with a 2" glow tube. He said they've been out fishing the same color non glow tube 5-1. I have a few colors of glow chenille and paints so I went to work on some baits that have some glow.I twisted a glow and regular chenille together with these tailgunners, tails are rabbit tails colored with permanent neon markers. The ducks don't glow but I still like them. I painted the blades with some new blends featuring neon holographic glitter that I found at Hobby Lobby. Six colors for $5.99. Really nice stuff that I mixed with clear and candy color powder paint.

Nice Ties JJ . also thanks for the information on the glow. I have had on and off luck with the glow pan fish assassins when I have used them. I know that they can be a deadly bait at times. I have not used the glow chenille but do have the glow head paint so will have to try them on some heads. Also do like the full hackle wing on the Flash Duck.

Yes I know now that I will end up with one of those minnow head molds with the recessed eyes. Good looking head!!!

With the ring collar on the ducks it makes a fuller body but it's also taking 3-4 feathers to fill in all the gaps. I wasn't much into blade baits at one time but in the last 3 years I've had a lot of success with them and now there is always at least one rod with a blade bait tied on. Tailgunners are now a favorite river bait of mine.

Great Looking jigs JJ. But you always have me confused. I don't know wether to consider you an artist or just a dang fine lure maker. Regardless of classification you fit both in a very excellent manner.

Great tied jigs! I like blades also. Those are very nice and the tail spinning blades are growing on me. Been using some lately and they look awesome coming through the water. Nice work!!

Wonderful ties. I really like the paint jobs on the blades. Tail spinners are great baits for white bass (e.g. Mann's Little George) in my opinion.

I think tying is an art,not everyone can do it. I'm fortunate to have sites like this where we share this art. I've gotten a lot of ideas from here. Someone posted a jig like these here and I had to get the mold. Now I'm off and running again.

You make some of my favorite jigs here. I have to get me some of those duck tails. Does one of our people here sell them, or do I go to one of the big box store.

Kind of wish I would have found some sickle hooks at Cabelas last week. Wanted to get a few sizes to see what worked with the bullet head and ball head molds I have in 1/16-1/4oz.

Again, very nice work!

I get the large bags of mallard flank from Cabela's where I can see what I'm getting and pick the bag with the most large feathers in them. There's always plenty of smaller feathers mixed in with them. CAT sells mallard flank and I really like the fluorescent colors that he dyes. I've been also working with permanent neon markers on both rabbit strips and the duck feathers applying marker before tying on rabbit and after on the ducks. When the rivers rise here and turn muddy I want to gice the fish something they can see.
