Nephew's first moose

My nephew got his first moose - 950 lb. male. I'm hoping he gets the hide tanned and lets me have a big chunk!!

They're not tanning the skin and I don't know if the borax method will work on the hide or not. I also don't have a dry/half warm place to try it - the wife already said no to keeping it in the house!!LOL And yeah i'm gonna try a scam him for a couple of steaks!!

Borax will work. Just make sure you get the hide thined down.

Warm and dry, I stick mine in the garage attic. Borax works just fine. As does salt. I'm not trying to make thinhs, I just want the hair to stay on the hide and not stink.
