Have been hunting for light 12-15 inch boots for most of my life. That were comfortable , warm and most importantly easy on and off.

Cabela's had a pair of Muck chore boots on sale for 69 and I decided to try them. I was skeptical about them because they do not make their boots in wi-----------de sizes. Any boot of this type I have ever owed was tight across the toes and really tight on my calves.

Cabela's has an excellent return policy so I decided to gamble on these boots. Glad I did cause these boots slip on and off like a pair of loafers. After a week of use I am still highly impressed. Snowblowing the driveway was always a dreaded task. Since I just wore my tennis shoes because of ill fitting boots.

Rarely do things live up to their hype. These boots are the exception. Now after I get my boots on I won't feel like I just did 12 rounds with Joe Frazier.

Yes Muck Boots are Great! I have Tree trunks for calfs :) and other rubber boots were always too tight. I bought my first pair like 5 years ago and thats all I've worn since. The pair I have now is made by BOGS but they are Identical. Columbia makes one now too but Muck is the best.

I need me a new pair of boots....... feet get wet/cold and it can pretty much ruin the best day on the ice. In the past i have always been a bucket sitter so always out and exposed to the wind.

Hear a lot of talk about the 'mickey mouse' military boot, how would these compare?

" Mickey Mouse " boots are the ultimate when it comes to ice fishing. They take a little getting used to. They are heavy but well worth the weight. There are other boots that will do the job on ice but they cost maybe 4 times as much as MM boots.

Best place to buy now is Ebay. Normally find them in ice fishing section. Some guys argue about which color is best white or black.
Wether the ones with the air valve are best. Only thing I can say my feet have never got cold wearing a pair of MM boots regardless of type. Even when getting a " soaker ". Wring sock out put boot back on up to body temp in about 15 minutes.

Can't say how the Muck chore boots would do on ice. But the MM boots go for 25- 50 on Ebay and the 69 on Cabelas is the cheapest I have seen for any type of Muck. The only valid complaint about MM boots is their weight. Just takes some getting used to. Some guys wear other boots to location on ice then transfer to the MM boot. The way I dealt with it was just to wear them all the time during winter. After that the weight never bothered me.

Just for laughs the MM boot is officially named "boot extreme cold weather " , GI's noticed that feet looked like cartoon feet of Mr Mickey Mouse of Walt Disney fame when wearing the boot. Hence the nickname MM boots. By the way the air valve on some of the boots was to add air for air crews and airborne troopers for high altitude air pressure. Not to add air for extra warmth.

Muck also makes a polar boot similar to their chore boots only warmer. Perfect for outdoor activities when cold.

My first experience with the Muck products was their scrub shoe which I dearly loved for daily around the house and yard wear. By fall, I bought a pair of the 9" muck boot scrub boot for winter easy on easy off and when you make 6-8 trips to the barn daily they are great.

I did end up buying a pair of the 16" wetlands boot for spring and fall hunting/fishing

All of these are comfortable, easy on easy off and lightweight as well as durable. My sgoes and 9" boots are worn so much I am on I think my 3rd pair of each. Wear the soles off of them.

I'm pretty interested in these MM boots. I must have poor circulation or something. My feet freeze no matter what I wear! I've tried a lot of different hunting boots. Pair I'm using now are ice boots (has screw in spikes) that have 2000 grams thinsulate. Yep my feet still get cold while hunting here in LA! I've been looking at some of the 12 volt heated socks that are designed for motorcycles.

I own a pair of military-issued Bata MM boots. Love them. The warmest, driest boots I've ever owned. Great insulators. Use them in a myriad of situations where I'm exposed to wetness and cold. My feet do sweat a bit which requires me to wear good sweat-absorbing socks with them. Feet stay warm and toasty.

Ironically, the only complaints that I've read about them come from reading posts made by ice fishermen choosing not to wear them. This is because they feel that if ice breaks and they fall in, they'll be floating "feet up" as these well-insulated rubber boots seal to trap air.

I've had a set of Sorel boots for going on 30 years now. Bought them for winter time back packing in snow shoes; snow seal them every year, and they've kept my feet warm & dry through rain, snow, & mud.

Thermacell now making a heated insole for boots, remote operated to turn off when walking I guess. Kinda pricey at just about $100.00 but beats cold feet when trying to enjoy the great outdoors. Hand/Toe warmers have gotten me through lots of cold days hunting in the past.

How do the MM boots fit? Do they run bigger than the traditional sizes? Reason I ask is I saw where someone said they fit big. I usually get a size bigger than I need to allow for all the socks I wear LOL

I wear my size 8 Bata MM Boots comfortably (not tight) with a pair of wool or cotton socks depending on my amount of time outdoors and conditions. There's no need for me to wear multiple pairs of socks with them. My regular shoe size is an 8.

In my experience, it's best to try on new boots before buying them. Drop by an Army/Navy store to try on Bata MM Boots before purchasing them online if you find a better deal there.

Rondon - Pup is steering you right. I have even wore dress socks on the ice with the MM boots. Buy the size shoe you normally wear and the normal width. Since I wear a size 12 extra wide. Mine look like you might be able to mount engine on and use for boat.

Another thing can't tell the amount of breakfasts I have won off of newbies and their 200 boots. I used to dare them to stick their foot in open water on the ice. I would do the same with mine. See who could tough it out the longest. I won every single time. I found this out by accident one time . Ice was 12 inches thick but was treacherous when getting on. A warm spell had degraded the ice right next to shore. About 18 inches deep. I thought I would have to go back home. But within 20 min , after dumping boot out and wringing sock out , my feet were warm again. By the way we killed the fish that day too.
