Can't think of an response but wow. Could you enclose a real fish in the resin to get a "just about to strike" thing happening?

I'm hooked on the resin now, patience is key. Ron, already did some megladon teeth. One will be a key chain for me and not sure about the one with two teeth. It's learn as you go with this. I should have put a clear coat on the teeth but since they're like rocks I didn't think it needed it but after the resin set up air bubbles formed in the resin. bombora, it is possible to put real fish, turtles, bats, etc. in resin because some in China are already putting stuff like that up on ebay and that stuff is selling too. The fish strike thing might be tough because I can't find molds big enough to do that. I've thought of using a large picture frame to do it so it has crossed my mind.

Use a lego set to build a frame but I'm afraid you'd have to put a liner of some kind in it to stop seepage . Be heck to pay if the resin got in the cracks .

I have to agree with you on the 3D look on the one with the duck feather jigs, that is just cool but all of them are incredible!!! I do have an idea for the fish deal like you guys talked about but my idea is a little different. I'd base it off the first picture of the wooly buggers with the gravel bottom, why not put a gravel bottom like that and have a jig angled so it looks as if it is like 1/8" or so from hitting the bottom but try to have it more to one side. Ten on the top off to the other side, try to find a picture or even cut or carve like a fish head, perhaps a trout head and position it so it looks as if the fish is just coming into view and going to inspect or hit the jig, if that makes any sense to you. There is so much you can do with that, very awesome art that we all can appreciate.

Just a thought, if you had a mold that was about 3" in diameter, perfectly flat on both sides but with a narrow ridge around the edge of one side, you could sell the heck out of coaster's! In fact, I'd be glad to send you a dozen of my jigs if you'd make me 6 coaster's! That'd de too cool!

I just seen a 3.5 inch round coaster mold with an indentation for holding a drink which I think would be perfect for what you're looking for Pepop. I think a jig no wider than 1/16 ball heads would be ok due to molds depth. Let me know if you want the coasters so I can order the mold, only one left.

UPDATE I just listed three finished pieces on ebay in the fishing section, Novelties and Gifts. Priced reasonable but not to optimistic on them selling. Scanned several pages of items ending soonest and not one item has a bid on it. Two pieces are new and I haven't shown them on here.

Guess you can´t find what you`re not looking for, since you haven´t even heard it existed in the first place. Welcome to my world (of selling hairjigs in Europe)!

But even if somebody would be looking for them (like I am now) - how on earth would one find them? I don´t think e-bay is the right platform, at least not without a little real-world support. You need some initial interest, some spark that makes people aware of their bare existence in the first place. A few samples in the flesh, strategycally positioned in a tackle shop or so, with a little note that says "I´m a -insert catchy name- that you can buy on e-bay".

Bucho, type in fishing lure paperweight in the Novelties and Gift section and it should come up. Item # 251427518460 on one of them. Maybe could have listed them in jig section but there's over 22,000 of those on ebay. Many aren't even jigs.

Heck, I know people who would pay more for the jigs than what you are asking for the paperweight. Seems like a waste of such nice work, but then again you´re enjoying it and if it at least covers its own costs ist a beautyful thing to do.

I´ve already bought a decent book on the issue, planning to use this stuff as give aways, eyecatchers, business card holders etc.

This is a great Idea and would make a great gift or a great way to persevere ones works of art. I will be trying this in the future thanks for sharing.

Up to ten resin molds now, really getting into pouring it and through trial & errors I'm getting better. Thought I'd show some favorites so far. The resin is getting clearer. The one with the duck jigs has a 3-d look to it, probably my favorite.

I bet these would sell at one of your shows Jungle. On ebay I would title lt like some of your jig auctions that get a bunch of views!

There is some good videos on Resin Craft. I wouldn't go by the instructions given by the maker of the resin. Longer mixing is necessary to thoroughly mix the resin and hardener. If it isn't mixed long enough the resin won't be clear. Lot's of good pointers out there that I'm using. There are bids on all three now. Ronnie, the weather affected the show which was the first week end in January. I packed up and left before the storm hit so missed the last day totally. I had several pieces at the show and had offers on them but since they were the first one's I made I declined the offers. I don't think I'll do another show, too much work. I'll put some up in the Jig section soon. I just finished a piece in which I used a dollar store picture frame, clear glue, a clear piece of acrylic, pebbles, rocks, a few shells, four custom baits and resin. It turned out pretty well, waiting for it to set up now. Pictures of the picture coming soon.
