I got bored with the ducks after about 100+,I tied more gunners and some 1/16 pillhead spinners. This year I was having to many fish swallow the 1/24 and 1/32 pillhead spinners so I'm hoping that with the heavier head they won't suck it in as far. On the tailgunners,I was fishing for smallies a couple of weeks ago with a 1/8 oz gunner with a 1/0 jig hook and a #2 painted Indiana and caught four 12-14 inch crappies on them. Not a single bass. It amazes me how big of a bait crappie will take.

Man those are awesome... And I like using large baits in warm water... Winter time I like a smaller bait!

All are #4 sickles. Second picture the collars are medium palmer chenille. I like smaller baits this time of year for crappie. #10 and #12 sickles seem to stick and hold them just fine. When the river's come up in March I'll start throwing bigger #2 and 4"s.

Those are some good looking bait! I have got to try some with the tail spinner. I fish with RR 90% of the time longlining and I think that tail spinner would work great.
