Took 4lb sufix fishing line and spooled onto a empty spool so I can use for the bobbin. I was going to purchase at Crazy Angler but why.....
Used it tonight to tie a jig seemed to work.

Any reason not to use mono?

I use Coats Transparent polyester monofilament unless I'm using dubbing, need the thread to show or I'm using a certain very thick chenille. Blends with all colors, and comes in a 400 yard spool for around $3. They also sell a big spool with around 2,000 yards for around $7, but I'd be worried about it getting too old before I could use it all.

Update for me I am using 6lb on 1/8 jigs. 2lb test for lower. I have taken a bolt slid on spool for bobbin and tighten with wing nut. Secure to a cordless drill and then press go until spool for bobbin is full. 2lb is working out great! Shoemoo I may go your direction after this spool is done! Thanks

plateboater, mono is great for chenille jigs where you don't want the thread to show, and the danville extra fine mono size is .004 in diam. it is very thin and very strong for it's size.
